Victoria and I are loving Biology. We recently dissected an earthworm in which we got to see its crop, gizzard, stomach, intestines, and other fun things like that. The earthworm was larger than the dish we got to dissect it on so he hung off the edge. Yeah. Great. Victoria did enjoy dissecting it though. (I think.)
Next up was the crayfish. We joined another homeschooling family to dissect the crayfish. The Moellerings consist of a sophomore and an 8th grader. Both are taking Biology this year, so we moms decided to do the rest of our dissections together. So, we went to the Moellerings' home and enjoyed lunch together before we dug into the crayfish. :) We had a good time tearing into the crayfish and finding each part. The Moellerings' had a female, and Victoria's was a male. How neat is that? Up next...a perch and a frog. Yeehaw!

I've never disected a worm, though I've baited a fish hook with one.
And I've never disected a crawfish, but I've eaten several. Yum yum. Perhaps this forensic knowledge can be applied to a scientific or medical career. However keep up your performance arts.
